“Raleigh is A Special Place, A Special Basketball Place”

The Raleigh Firebirds are a professional basketball team in Raleigh, North Carolina. We're a member of The Basketball League (TBL), a national basketball league featuring 52 teams in North America. The team offers the highest level of professional basketball in Raleigh, with many of our players receiving opportunities to play overseas. Just a few include Darius Leonard, Kenny Collins, Shaq Dance, Jamal McKoy, Daquan Lilly, and Demontez Loman.

The Firebirds played their first season in the TBL in 2019 and had a great year. After making the playoffs in their inaugural season, the Firebirds were within 4 points of playing in the TBL Finals against the Yakima Sunkings. The Firebirds fought hard and represented Raleigh very well throughout the season, going 13-1 at home. Most recently, the team went 8-3 at home in 2023 and lost a heartbreaker in the first round of the playoffs.

Off the court, the Firebirds are heavily invested in STEM Education for the youth throughout Wake County. The 21st-century workforce requires astounding levels of STEM education, but many of our youth aren't getting exposed to these fields in a way that engages their own aspirations and imaginations. We are committed to leveraging the power and attractiveness of our sport to promote earlier engagement with STEM.

With the companies like CAM Raleigh, Guerbet, Pivot Physical Therapy, Pepsi, York Properties, Brock Contactors, Sinclair Broadcasting, and VOCA Marketing, we were able to really raise awareness of the many benefits of a STEM Education. The Firebirds strive to continue promoting STEM, and bring an affordable and very exciting brand of basketball to the Triangle.
